Normandy turned in a broad set of scoring performances Thursday at the CWC Championships in Rocky River, led by a pair of first-place finishes from Isabel Kroth and runner-up efforts from Dominic Wrege and Brooke Yontosh. Competing at 20951 Detroit Rd., the Invaders produced high placements across sprints, hurdles, distance races, relays, jumps and throws in a meet that featured a large field.

Kroth supplied Normandy’s top individual results on the girls side, winning the 100-meter hurdles and adding another title in the 300-meter hurdles. Yontosh also gave the Invaders a major lift, placing second in the long jump and seventh in the 100-meter dash. Jessica Chuba added a seventh-place finish in the long jump, while Amelia Bakalarczyk took fifth in the 800-meter run and Emily Bassett placed sixth in the 3,200-meter run.

Normandy’s girls relays added more scoring depth. The 4x100-meter relay of Keniah Young, Madison Nimrichter, Jessica Chuba and Yontosh finished fifth. The 4x200-meter relay, made up of Young, Nimrichter, Jessica Chuba and Kroth, also placed fifth. In the 4x800-meter relay, Bakalarczyk, Bassett, Kara Seigler and Brianna Sanchez earned seventh place for the Invaders.

On the boys side, Wrege posted one of Normandy’s strongest field-event finishes by taking second in the long jump. Gavin Clark cleared his way to fourth in the high jump, while John Chuba placed fifth in the shot put and Lucas Miller added a seventh-place finish in the same event. On the track, Aydin Blackwell finished fourth in the 400-meter dash, Landon Hardy was seventh in the 800-meter run and sixth in the 1,600-meter run, giving the Invaders points in multiple middle-distance events.

The boys relays also contributed throughout the meet. The 4x200-meter relay of Dominic Wrege, Alex Biacovschi, Troy Summers and Blackwell placed fifth, and the 4x400-meter relay of Rocco Pallotta, Omir Taylor, Alex Biacovschi and Blackwell matched that finish with another fifth-place showing. Normandy’s 4x100-meter relay team of Jhanluis Montan, Pallotta, Summers and Wrege finished seventh, while the 4x800-meter relay of Hardy, Liam Mckay, Isaac Chmura and Rusiljun Sano also came in seventh.

Taken together, the results gave Normandy contributions from veterans and multiple event groups, with hurdle titles from Kroth and second-place jumps from Wrege and Yontosh setting the tone. The Invaders showed balance across both lineups, and the championship meet closed with Normandy collecting places in nearly every phase of the program.
