Normandy’s trip to the OHSAA State Championships produced a program milestone Sunday in Columbus, as Isabel Kroth turned in a record-setting performance for the Invaders in the girls 300-meter hurdles.

Kroth placed eighth in the state final with a time of 44.65 seconds, establishing a new school record in one of Ohio’s biggest meets. Competing against a large championship field, Kroth delivered Normandy’s signature result of the day and capped the season with a finish on the state stage.

The 300-meter hurdles demands rhythm, speed and late-race strength, and Kroth’s run put all three on display. Her 44.65 not only earned a place on the podium standings, but also reset the standard for the Invaders program.

With limited scoring opportunities at a state meet, every performance carries extra weight, and Kroth’s showing gave Normandy a clear highlight in Columbus. The combination of a top-eight finish and a school record underscored both her consistency and her ability to rise to the moment against elite competition.

On a mainly clear day in Columbus, Kroth’s race stood as the defining Normandy moment at the state championships. Her eighth-place finish and school-record time of 44.65 will give the Invaders a benchmark to chase heading into the next season.
