Invader Swim Team Season Preview

The Normandy Girls and Boys Swimming and Diving team got off to a fast start under first year head coach Chad Nance. The team opened the season with G.L.C wins over Bay Village. The Invaders return four District Qualifiers from last season (Jacob Millard, Nate Dusek, Selina Cao and Alex Cucu) and one State Qualifier (Alex Cucu) who was a 12th in the State in the 200 I.M. and 4th in the 100 Breaststroke where he earned All-American Status. The Invaders have a strong Senior class led by Team Captains Alyssa Kancler, Anthony Martin, Kyle Wells, Nate Dusek, Alex Cucu, Alex Birsan, Viv Anselmo and Ashley Higginbotham. Freshman Blake Colwell is expected to make an immediate impact this year and contend for multiple G.L.C Conference titles.

With 36 total Swimmers and Divers coach Nance knows the Invaders are poised to have a very successful season.  “We have set some very high goals and look to contend for the title in the G.L.C Championships and qualify multiple swimmers and divers to Districts and States”.
