The Normandy Invaders competed in the Elyria Catholic Pentathlon and had quite a day. The boys were the overall team winner scoring 202 points. The girls finished in 5th place scoring 10 points. Alex Cucu won the 50 Back, 50 Breast, 50 Fly and 50 Free and was the overall winner with a win in the 100 IM Final setting two meet records in the process in the 50 Back and 50 Breast. Freshman Blake Colwell was second in the 50 Back, second in the 50 Breast, 2nd in the 50 Fly, 4th in the 50 Free and 2nd overall for the boys with a second place finish in the 100 IM A final. Alex Birsan was 12th in the 50 Back, 15th in the 50 Breast, and 11th in the 50 Fly and qualified for the B final where he came in 2nd in the 100 IM. Casey Lontoc was 9th in the 50 Breast and also qualified for the B final coming in 15th place in the 100 IM. Nate Dusek also scored a 10th place finish in the 50 Free. Both the boys and girls teams had some very impressive swims against some great competition. Lots of PR’s in the day. Next up is a BIG GLC meet at Rocky River on Wednesday. Go Invaders!
