The Normandy Girls Wrestling Team has started off their season very strong. They currently maintain an undefeated dual record of 7-0 with wins over Thomas Harvey (dualed twice), Akron North, Mentor (dualed twice), Madison, and Berea-Midpark.

At their first tournament of the season at Brush they finished in 5th place out of 40 teams. They then traveled to a two day tournament at Lutheran West where they took an 11th place finish out of 51 teams. Lastly, over the past weekend they placed 6th out of 38 other teams at the Akron North Viking Invitational Tournament with two tournament champions in Brooklyn Madal at 120lbs and Tamrah Szucs at 235lbs.

The current team record leaders for the girls are:

Brooklyn Madal 21-3

Tamrah Szucs 18-5

Caddyson Edwards 16-8

Brooke Yontosh 12-9

The next time you can catch the girls in action is this Thursday when they travel across town to dual Valley Forge. They will be wrestling before the boys teams from both Normandy and Valley Forge.
