Hockey Season Preview

The hockey team will be defending their Baron Cup title but will be doing it from a higher Division. Having won the Championship two of the past three years the Invaders have been moved up to the next highest Division where the competition will be even more difficult. Leading the team offensively will be seniors, Andrew Lane, Jacon Nugent, Shane Becher, Sal Boscarello and Nolan Sandi. Defensively, Dane Galgas, Trent Kwitkowski and Ryan Zabierowski will hold down the blue line while All League goaltender Jason Nicholson returns in goal. The Division title and Baron Cup are team goals and the Invaders should be in the fight for both of those titles in February. Cooper Davis, Justin Sakeagak, Nick Williams, Kurt and Leo Fenzel, Captain Mario Terallari and freshmen Colton Galgas and Liam Sturges provide an excellent supporting cast that should lead to a bunch of wins this season.  >

Girls Wrestling Season Preview

 The Normandy High School girls wrestling team is poised for a historic season, boasting their largest roster ever with 30 dedicated athletes. Under the guidance of Head Coach Justin Halaska, and volunteer coaches James Toth, Tyler Sayre and Tommy Kennell, the Invaders are ready to make waves in the girls wrestling community.  The team is anchored by returning state qualifier Brooklyn Madal, a senior who has spent the offseason honing her skills at national tournaments and camps. Madal's experience and determination make her a formidable force on the mat. Alongside her is Brooke Yontosh, a returning state alternate who is eager to possibly write her name into the history books of Normandy High School and the OHSAA.  Upperclassmen Erta Beqiri, Juliana Campos and Tamrah Szucs, all with impressive track records, are poised to contribute significantly. Beqiri and Campos dedication to offseason training in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling has elevated their skill

This coming Friday your Normandy Invaders will take on their crosstown rival Valley Forge in the Battle of Parma.  The Athletic Department is selling commemorative T-shirts to celebrate the big game. T shirts will be on sale for $20.00 all week in the treasurer's office.   >

Clyde Lady Fliers- 8th Place Finish Out Of 55 Teams

The Normandy Invaders girls wrestling team finished an impressive 8th place out of 55 teams at the Clyde Lady Flier tournament! The Invaders only finished only 7pts outside of a Top Three finish.  Leading the way for the Invaders were:Brooke Yontosh – 4th placeBrooklyn Madal – 5th placeTamrah Szucs – 2nd place 🥈 All of our girls wrestled with incredible heart and determination, showcasing the true spirit of an Invader.
